Job Description
Plans and coordinates the activities related to managing the School of Cytotechnology under accreditation standards established by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Education Programs (CAAHEP) and with hospital policies and procedures. Develops, administers, organizes, reviews, evaluates effectiveness, and ensures program is in compliance with external accreditation requirements.
Selects candidates for the school, participates in the budget planning process for the program, evaluates and assures clinical education effectiveness, maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development and pursuit of scholarly activities, assumes leadership responsibility in the continued development of the program. Performs microscopic evaluation of prepared cytology specimens according to laboratory procedures and workload policies.
Minimum Requirements
1. Doctorate degree and ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist
2. Competence in the area of diagnostic ctyopathology with 5 years of professional experience after CT (ASCP) certification.
3. Working knowledge of educational theory or practice.
4. Two years teaching experience
